Jan. 18–Feb. 14 2025We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Sand Cay! The position on the uncrowded beach was perfect with sunset views and beach loungers always available. The large pool was never crowded. We had several small problems it’s our unit, but they were fixed immediately. The office staff were friendly and helpful. The only negatives with this unit were the small dishwasher and the small water heater. 30 gallons suitable for 2, but not more..

We always enjoy staying at Sand Cay. We had two issues this time: we had a dangerously faulty outlet in the second bedroom where young children slept. We called Monday morning but the problem wasn't taken care of. We had to call back Tuesday morning and soon after we called the problem was fixed. We stayed in unit 320 and the elevator was not working when we left on 1/18. Someone from the office said they would send someone up to help us with our large suitcases Thursday morning but no one showed up.

We were very happy with our stay and it made the perfect backdrop for a wedding.

The property is well maintained and clean. Master bedroom mattress is caving in and needs replacement. Carpet in both bedrooms could also use an upgrade. Partial view from the balcony is nice, if the palm trees were trimmed down would help. Parking is close to the unit.

2nd time at Sand Cay and overall we still love the place. We aren't real picky as we care most about the location, the beach and a balcony with a nice view. Out room 320 was clean and ready for us. For a premium room it really needs some updating. The baths are OK but the furniture and wall decor it early 80's. The mattress is also ready for retirement. It was well stocked although a few condiments would be nice (no salt). Appliances worked well, especially the ice maker. A/C was in good shape. And had plenty of beach stuff. Could upgrade the styrofoam beach cooler.

We loved our stay at Sand Cay!Pros: resort is just steps to private beach with lots of beach chairs available. Pool area also has lots of seating. Condo (#320) was well stocked in kitchen as well as beach toys, towels & umbrellas. Private balcony with views of the gulf.Cons: Condo (#320) master bed is worn out and should be replaced. No washer/dryer in unit like some units have (but there is on-site laundry). Not walkable to restaurants/shops ( must drive 3-5 miles ).We will definitely be back to this resort for a quiet beach vacation, if looking for more touristy spot this is likely not the resort for you.

Our stay at Sand Cay was our 5th vacation there. We love it. The location is perfect, the condo was great, the facilities are all designed to make your stay comfortable and convenient. We love the quiet and peaceful location that is close to fabulous restaurants, shopping, and activities. I would give five stars to the staff, too. They are so friendly and helpful. We recommended Sand Cay to several friends who are now yearly renters there as well. We hope to make Sand Cay our vacation spot every year.

Enjoyed the stay this time as well as the last 3 years..always look forward to being at Sand Cay each year. Too many people finding out about this place so it is getting hard to get a place each year.

The Sand Cay complex is a beautiful property. We rented unit 320 for 6 weeks. Melissa, the property manager and her team are great. Maintenance team is very responsive.During our stay the refrigerator broke and the repair and replacement was prompt. Our unit was partially updated but I was disappointed with a half size dishwasher and the worst sagging mattress in the master that I have ever experienced. In the future I would return to the complex but chose a different unit.complex 5 starsunit 3 stars

This was our 9th visit to Sand Cay on Longboat Key. We love the location and beach access! It is a calm, peaceful setting for a great getaway vacation!

Went for a long weekend and we loved our stay. Sand Cay is right on the beach. The unit has nice water view from living room and lanai. Home was nicely furnished. Would definitely stay here again. Only negative was when one stool was flushed the other one would have water bubble up. Not an issue for us but if more than two people staying there I can see where it would be an annoyance.

We booked Unit 320 in September. During our stay we had a major plumbing issue which the resort management handled swiftly. This required us to use another nearby unit for showers, bathrooms. Once the plumbers resolved the problem we settled back in and enjoyed our stay. The unit was otherwise impeccable. We will definitely give this place another try.

We loved Sand Cay but would not stay in this unit 320 again. Master bedroom mattress was terrible and needs to be replaced. Plus this unit did not provide basic needs like a sponge for the kitchen sink or coffee filters or salt and pepper....actually, don’t know if that is the unit owners decision or Sand Cay’s. Either way, it’s annoying to have to buy such items if you are only staying for a week. Before you book, ask questions about these things.
