Unit #305

We have been staying at Sand Cay for many years (sometimes multiple units with many family members) and it never disappoints. We have stayed at other places on Longboat Key and none are as nice and as well maintained as Sand Cay.

Sand Cay is truly a hidden gem. You really feel like you are back in Florida from 30 years ago. Longboat Key is a special place. There is plenty of crazy just south or just north if you are looking for it, but you really get a chance to relax here. Our unit was a good one for the most part. The carpet really needs to be removed. It's tricky it a climate like this with heat and humidity. I think this would give it a fresh look and feel. The bathrooms I felt were very clean as was the kitchen. This is big for me. We did have an issue with one of the towel bars coming down and it was not repaired prior to us leaving, even though we were there for a week and reported it day one. Besides this small hick up the people who work in the office and on the grounds are all very nice and easy to talk to. We just love Sand Cay!

Blinds to the porch wouldn’t open, furniture is worn and needs upgrading. HVAC unit needs to be replaced as it wouldn’t hold a temperature and the unit warmed to over 80 degrees every day

This was our 3rd trip to Sand Cay (2021, 2024, 2025). Always a fantastic experience. The team has done an amazing job after the hurricanes. We saw no evidence of the storm damage at all on the property. Even more beautiful than it was last year with some new flower beds and landscaping! We enjoy the convenience of the charcoal grills by the shore, the pool, the grounds, the white sand beach and turquoise water. There are plenty of loungers, mini tables on the beach with floaties, boogie boards and beach toys for use close by. Dinner at the Lazy Lobster was delicious! We ordered sushi from Publix and it was really good. Our family of six enjoys this hidden gem of a resort in Longboat Key! We will definitely be back!

Only negative - could not find a corkscrew!

We have stayed at Sand Cay many times, renting multiple condos for family. This time we wanted to stay a week, but rented for a little longer because the unit was available for 9 nights. So very glad we did! We just didn’t want to leave. Our daughter and her family were able to join us for a few nights for a very memorable vacation.

Condo was adequate but unimpressive. Outdated, no ceiling fans, dingy carpet, several burned out light bulbs. But our biggest complaint was the lack of a high top table on the balcony. We couldn't see over the balcony wall. The vertical blinds on the balcony doors did not work well and a long cord was exposed /hanging which could be a hazard for small children. The staff was very cordial and accommodating and noted that we should have told them about the blinds and light bulbs and they would have resolved it. So it was our choice not to notify them. (too busy enjoying the beach and the beautiful island) The grounds were beautiful, as was the beach. The other tenants were quite friendly. Excellent parking. Would definitely consider Sand Cay again but not this unit.

We enjoyed our stay overall. The grounds are well maintained and the staff super friendly and helpful. Our unit was fairly well equipped and provided a comfortable stay. We did have a few light switches that appeared to not work or bulb burnt out, also the master bedroom mattress made my back a bit angry. Other that that all was great.

The staff, the grounds, the beach! We loved our time there.

We have been visiting this resort for 15+ years and we have never been disappointed. The grounds are nice, beach is beautiful, staff is friendly, etc. Love it

Once again we had a great time staying at Sand Cay. The place is always CLEAN and well appointed. Plenty of beach chairs and towels. The grounds are beautiful and the views are great. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

My family and I have been coming to Sand Cay off and on for over 2 decades. We’ll be coming again. We love being on the beach where it’s beautiful and relaxing.

This is a really nice place to enjoy with your family. The apartment in general needs some updates lio Ike the floors the kitchen and definitely needs light because is a little be dark inside but other than that we have a good time.

My daughter and son-0in-[aw stayed at the resort in 2020. They asked me to join them this year and I am so glad I did! Beautiful condo, well equipped and decorated very nicely. Location on beach is perfection. Amenities abound. Staff was so friendly and helpful! Nice shipping at St Armand's Circle is very close. Restaurants, also. A Publix is located about 5 minutes away so cooking in condo was very easy.We are already planning on next year!

Having stayed in many units at Sand Cay over the past 30 years, Unit 305 had a lovely view. The Sand Cay staff were wonderful as usual - one of the reasons we keep coming back. 305 was nicely appointed but we have a few suggestions - get a new high-top patio set so guests can actually see the lovely view and please consider radio/alarm clocks in the bedrooms. (My phone alarm was on the blink.) Other than those minor things, we would consider renting the unit again. We love Sand Cay!

We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to get out of the chill of NH and swim in the warm water and soak up the sun. The property had a little view of the ocean and amazing sky but we spent more time outside than in. Kitchen was well stocked with all the amenities we would need. The only suggestions we’d have is that the property needs a professional to come in and sort out the lighting switches so they make sense. Umbrellas specific to the condo versus hoping the office had one to borrow would be great too.

It was really great. Nice view, attentive staff, clean facilities and the unit was nicely equipped and was also very clean. We have already reserved a spot for Spring Break 2022!

The room was very clean and equipped with full kitchen. There were toys for the beach for kids. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

This was a perfect getaway during the pandemic! We felt safe - the property was not too crowded, guests maintained their distance and masks were worn when inside the office. It was so nice to be outside; on the beach, in the pool, playing tennis & shuffleboard. The Longboat Key area is much less crowded than nearby Anna Maria Island. The sunsets were beautiful.

This is an annual family trip that is always a good time!

Very calm and peaceful stay. Nice folks. Just what the doctor ordered.
