Great location, low density, but aged property and unit. Checkout time 10 AM is brutal, make it noon.

Have been coming here for 40 years and have never been disappointed

This is our 5th stay here, and like so many others we met at the beach, we'll be back!

We had a lovely relaxing vacation on the beach at Longboat Key, staying in Sand Cay Beach resort. We have returned for many visits since discovering this gem in 2010. Lovely views, ease of beach access, nice dining experiences in the area.

Unit 303 was a very nice unit - very clean, but could use a few improvements. #1 - the slider door to the deck was difficult to open, meaning you really had to pull it hard for it to open. #2 - the shower valve in the guest bathroom was very difficult to pull out. Our guest who stayed over night could not pull the valve out to turn the water on, so she asked me to do it. That could use an adjustment. #3 - Not a big deal, but the owner may want to consider replacing the current deck table & chairs with an elevated pub style furniture as some other units have. When you sit at the table, just about all you can see is the wall surrounding deck area. You can see the ocean while sitting, but you couldn't see the beach. Other than these issues, everything else was fine, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We have been coming to LBK and the Sand Cay Beach Resort for many years. We love everything about it but especially Sand Cay! It's a beautiful property and it's beautifully maintained.

Resort was very nice. Location of the unit we stayed is was great. Unit it self needs some updating. Bathrooms were old. Vertical shades were all broken. Needs new furniture

This was our third stay at Sand Cay Beach Resort. Same unit and same great view. Same time of year also, the place and pool and beach are practically empty. Sand Cay is conveniently located to restaurants and shopping (if that is your idea of a getaway). It seemed to us that the couches and rugs had been updated since last year. All the required amenities are included if you choose to stay in and cook. All with the view. Even observed the outdoor grills being used this year. Not that Sand Cay has control over this next reason we like staying here is the wild bunnies that are in the yard every morning and evening, the dolphins swimming by, and the sunsets when Mother Nature cooperates. These views are from the beach, the balcony or the large picture windows.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sand Cay! The master bedroom is huge and the large windows meant we could see the beach from almost anywhere in the condo. Loved that the 2nd bedroom had twin beds for our boys. I’m not sure it’d be possible to get any closer to the beach. We loved the pool too, which was large and never crowded. The condo was clean with expected amenities. We did have an issue with small bugs on the kitchen counter and had to call the office twice; they sent pest control right away and it solved the issue. Our rental also included beach toys and beach/pool towels. I would recommend counter height chairs on the balcony so you can still see the beach and ocean when sitting on the balcony. Also would LOVE in rental laundry, but we did take advantage of the laundry facilities on site. The walkways around the property are very nice and well kept as are all the grounds. If you hope to see sea turtles, their nests are everywhere around Sand Cay and one evening we saw a huge turtle on shore laying eggs and watched her crawl back into the tide. Overall, we’d go back to Sand Cay and recommend it to friends and family.

The rental experience at sand cay is always so easy with pleasant people at the front reception desk. They tend to you problems quickly without hesitation. Great service

We had a wonderful week at Sand Cay! We have loved vacationing at Sand Cay for many years, and this week did not disappoint! The location of 303 is amazing...with beautiful views! We really liked this condo- it was very comfortable, nicely decorated, fully equipped, and had everything needed for a wonderful vacation!

We look at Sand Cay as our home away from home. We have gotten to know some of the other guests and the staff and it is a clean and lovely place for a getaway.

Our vacation was wonderful and the weather was fantastic.Condo 308 was very scenic however there could be some upgrades made. The bathrooms were very dated.(Broken toothbrush holder)The closet doors need to be repaired or changed.2nd bedroom very small.Dishwasher didn't work.We were expecting a more updated unit for the price we paid VRBO.

The staff is amazing. The grounds are beautiful. Our unit-303- had carpeting that was worn and filthy as was the living room furniture. We enjoyed our stay but expected nicer furnishings at this price point. The grounds a common areas were beautifully maintained as was the pool area. It is a shame the owner does not take more care of her unit.

Very nice unit near the shuffle board court. Great access to the beach and we enjoyed the pickle courts!

When we walked into the room and saw the awesome view of the beach, it was magnificent. We stood there in awe. Toured around all the rooms then begin unpacking to go to the beach and play with monster trucks and then the water with our grandson. we all had such a good time we didn’t want to leave. We’re already planning to visit again this summer, so relaxing, so refreshing so much fun thank you Sand Cay for helping us with each visit that we returned to see you till again my friends. Thank you again.

We returned to LBK and Sand Cay for the 9-10th time-truly a beautiful beach resort and always so calm and peaceful! We will continue to visit when a week of rest and relaxation is needed as well as a beach fix!!

We have stayed at Sand Cay for many years now and I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. Everything about it is perfect. It is beautifully maintained and the staff is super efficient and very friendly. It's our home away from home.

The rental was nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable. Beach access was close and the view was amazing.

This is our favorite place to stay in Florida. This was our third stay. The beach and property are amazing. We love the relaxed atmosphere. We are already planning our next visit.

We stayed in unit 303 for the last 10 days of January, then moved to 307 until mid February of this year. The Gulf view from 303 is the overwhelming selling point and we thus booked 303 for all of February in 2023. However - the furniture; beds, sofas etc., the quality of kitchen goods, and the bathrooms in 307 were far nicer than 303. Considering the substantially higher cost of 303, we genuinely hope the owner takes note of the reviews and addresses the issues. Would love to see new sofas, a new mattress in the master, and the Gulf view windows rendered functional in 303 prior to our next stay. It is perhaps the nicest location and view in Sand Cay - please bring the quality of the interior up to its potential.

A wonderful rental experience.

We love Sand Cay (friendly management and guests) and in particular, "our" condo, with it's wonderful view of the sunsets.

We had an amazing time at this vacation rental with awesome gulf front views. If possible we would love to rent this place again!

Absolutely beautiful view of the Gulf and located directly on its own beach. The unit we stayed was a little worn, but who spends most the time in a condo when you’re there for the beach? The only thing I would really have to say was not adequate was the pull out sofa; very uncomfortable. All in all though my new happy place in Florida: we will hopefully be able to make it back.

This was our 3rd stay. We always choose beachfront. The view was great! Master bed was comfortable. The condo, however, was lacking. I had to buy pitchers for our drinks. The bathrooms are in dire need of update and fixing. The master shower had mildew on the curtain and the piece beneath the faucet had some kind of metallic tape to prevent leaks? We will be back to Sand Cay, but not back to this unit.

The unit was clean and the location/view was awesome! The kitchen could have been better equipped but overall the unit was good.
