Unit #203

Sand Cay is a very well maintained property with wonderful perks like beach chairs, umbrellas, free self service laundry,outdoor grills,and reserved parking. The office staff is always incredibly helpful, accommodating, and pleasant! It's quiet and very low key,just like being at home!There is plenty to do in the area with several top notch restaurants. This was our third time staying here and we'll definitely be back! We've stayed twice in 204 and this time in 203 because we noticed the view was a step above 204. 204 the first time needed some TLC, but the 2nd time it was much better, particularly the kitchen remodel. We tried 203 this time based on the clear views to beach/sunset since the unit is on the edge of building.Surely 203 has superior views of the sunset, but the condition of the unit was very disappointing: The furniture in the living spaces is (dining table fine) very uncomfortable and one chair on the deck was broken - replaced by ridiculous, too short, uncomfortable chairs. There is also an unnecessary chaise lounge which makes it cramped out there. The kitchen had broken cupboards and is in pretty bad shape. The toilets barely flush. The beds were comfortable and we liked that the 2nd bedroom had 2 full sized beds, not twins.The whole unit needs some serious TLC/updating;but,the views are unmatched. When we come back, 204 is definitely our first choice between the two. Amenities at Sand Cay are perfect and we love it, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars for the first two questions is due to the poor condition of the unit itself.

Sand Cay is a fabulous location on Longbaot Keyband we have stayed in several different units there. 203 is special because of 1) the view from the deck and 2) the primary bedroom has windows facing the ocean. That said, the furniture is very tired, the kitchen dishes and glassware are a random collection of mismatched items, and the patio furniture is not ideal. Sand Cay in general is beautifully landscaped and it’s great to have a tennis court and shared laundry facility. We’ll be back but we’d love to see some interior upgrades.

If you love a beautiful view, your own terrace overlooking the beach, and great privacy, this rental is for you. Its corner location directly facing the ocean with no obstruction is hard to beat. If you value a well equipped kitchen, a comfortable dining room and a good mattress, it may not be for you.. The furniture seems random , the china mismatched, the pots and pans scarily old, the appliances cheap. I had to buy my own paring knife (there was one steak knife and a bunch of big carving knives). The small kitchen has a great view, as does the living room and bedroom, but the kitchen windows couldn’t be opened despite the office taking 2 work orders. I should add that we’ve vacationed twice before at Sand Cay and liked it a lot. This unit is just not luxurious as expected.

As always it was pleasant as well as lots of fun. We really love the place, we have been coming for 7 years. Again this year unable to get tv working. Every time the tv was on it would go on and off of internet service very frustrating also on my tablet. The other downside was seeing that black snake on the walkway. I know most people don’t mind but it really rattled me. Sarah was very kind to me so i would relax, she is very special. Looking foward to next year’s trip with my two girls��

Views from the balcony were spectacular! The unit itself needs some upgrades. Sink in the master bathroom didn’t drain well and the balcony from above was leaking into the living room area.

We had a wonderful time. The unit it is nice but they have too much furniture in the master bedroom and the kitchen is very outdated. We will be back to Sand Cay next year!��

We had a wonderful stay at Sand Cay. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The office staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The unit we stayed it was very well equipped with everything from cooking needs to beach needs. The dining room table was large enough for my entire family to eat at! However, the kitchen does need to be updated. The stove/ oven was rusty and the kitchen space itself is only big enough for 2 adults to be in at 1 time! Other than the kitchen issue , everything else was great! We will definitely be returning next year!

We found the unit very clean and as advertised. This unit has a great view of the ocean from the patio. Very spacious living quarters too.

Great resort.

We really enjoy Sand Cay- it is a wonderful resort. Our unit was very clean (kudos to housekeeping) but not in the best shape this year, and considering the cost, it seemed it should have been better (203). The dining light did not work, the slider screen was broken, The lamps were old and dingy looking. Bathrooms were nice but the kitchen was minimally stocked for cooking (cheap pots and pans, very few glasses- dishes minimally ok) The icemaker was nice to have and the new dishwasher was great. The kitchen felt old and very outdated- not so nice to cook in. Both kitchen windows could not open (no crank), one window in living area also would not open. The furniture was ok but there was a general moisture smell to the condo. Maybe the AC filter needs regular replacement? In general ,a beautiful location but if a guest is charged this amount, the unit should be updated. Thank you for hosting us as guests!

We love returning to this property every year. The ocean view is spectacular and the three on site office staff are professional and friendly to ensure a 5 star vacation experience.

We had a wonderful time at Sand Cay for the holidays. We had 4 families rent condos here and each one had different styles. Our condo was not updated like the others, but the view was worth it.

Loved our stay at Sand Cay. Great location, super clean condo, lovely grounds and beach, pickleball courts and pool! Sunsets from our balcony were stupendous. The staff were just wonderful!

The unit was beachfront with amazing views and a few steps to the beach. It was turtle season, which meant no lights on the balcony at night. Only a few other people in the complex and beach, so it was very quiet and relaxing. Beach chairs are available, along with umbrellas to use. The ocean was clear and you could walk up to your neck and still see below. The complex is within 5 miles to restaurants, shopping, grocery stores and other fun activities. I highly recommend this complex if you seek a beautiful and quiet beach vacation. I suggest bringing extra pillows for the master suite and if you are hot-natured, a couple of fans. One box fan is available in the unit. The furniture in the living area was replaced with wicker and doesn't match the photos. The couch in the tv area was peeling on the bottom and top. There is plenty of storage space in the closets and cabinets. It was a great unit for a 5 night stay. It would have been nice to have a stacked washer/dryer and K-cup coffee maker. There is an ice maker, washer and dryer near the pool area at the other end of the complex.

We LOVE Sand Cay! We try to stay there everytime we come to Longboat Key. It feels like home.

We were in #203 and the location was wonderful. We got to look out at the beach and sunset everyday. I think that some of the condo could be updated a bit but other than that the experience was just wonderful.

Wonderful setting, nice grounds, unbelievable beach and access. Close to restaurants and parks. Only downside was the unit was musty at times. Damp environment a challenge, but a dehumidifier would help.

We stayed for a week in early July. Stayed in the same unit for the 4th time. We love the view from the balcony of the sunsets and gulf. We also went to our favorite restaurants on Longboat including the Blue Dolphin for breakfast, the Drydock , Harry’s and Euphemia Haye. Did you excursions to Mote Marine and Ringling Museums. Lots to do besides relaxing on the beautiful grounds of Sand Cay.

Lovely family-friendly spot on a beautiful beach. All common areas and pool were clean, well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. Not a super fancy resort but for our purposes it was perfect. Our unit has beach front views which were spectacular especially at sunset. We had no problems with noise. Our unit was somewhat dated and kitchen could have been better stocked with utensils etc. but we have no major complaints.

Our family had a great time at Sand Cay in Unit 203, 1 of a several units here that have a perfect view. The beach, pool and access to both was amazing for the kids that like to go back and forth to both multiple times a day. Tennis court, shuffle board and free laundry were great amenities. The only thing we noticed was unit 203 needed some flooring updated in the bathrooms, other than that it worked very well with 6 of us. Thanks again Sand Cay for making this a great family vacation!!!

Unit 203 is in a perfect location. Nice balcony with unobstructed 180 degree views of the gulf. Unit needs some updates but still ok for a short stay. Unit also could use a washer/dryer.

While the unit was a bit less than we would have expected in cleanliness and definitely has outdated furnishings and appliances, the views and ease of being at the beach trumped the cons.

We had a terrific time, with a deck that overlooks the Gulf of Mexico and with weather giving us an opportunity to do a little biking every day. Sand Cay is convenient and agreeable and a pleasure to stay in.

This was one of my favorite stays in Florida by far. Every room but one had a view of the ocean and beach and was very spacious. Well equipped kitchen and beach toys, umbrellas, etc. It may not be the most updated in furniture or decor, but it was by far the best location and views on the island. Very close to stores and restaurants. Loved every minute of our stay!

Floor around the toilet in the master bath was very spongy. also floor in master bedroom sloped enough that you could feel it sloping toward window near bathroom door. Unit needs updating but very clean.

Always beautiful. However, both bathrooms have loose floor tiles; mildew at baseboards. Could use an update

We loved our stay at Sand Cay. We arrived after hours and were able to find our check-in materials/keys without any issues. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed. The balcony outside was really nice with great views of the gulf! We also loved the location in Longboat Key-more peaceful away from the hustle and bustle of AMI. The common areas are beautifully kept. Our only complaint was that we could hear the people above us running around from time to time. They were quiet when it mattered (at night), but the walls seemed thin.

We’ve shopped, toured other properties and talked to a lot of visitors to the area over the years and still conclude that Sand Cay is among the best for price - value on Long Boat. The area feels very residential yet all you would want in terms of shopping and meals is only minutes away. The grounds are well maintained, in good repair and very clean. Staff are pleasant and responsive. Units vary in there views of the beach or pool and many have been updated. Unit 203 could benefit from some repairs and TLC which was shared with the owner on a written survey we completed at the end and of our most recent stay. We’ve been visiting at Sand Cay for four years. We enjoy our time there so much our vacation spend has jumped from an initial one week to three weeks next year. A great gem among the jewels that make Long Boat so special

We enjoyed our stay at Sandy Cay Beach Resort. The oceans views are amazing! The room was clean, amenities were nice (we enjoyed the pool, basketball and shuffleboard), and we loved the expansive beach. There were always enough chairs to lounge in and would definitely come back again. We also appreciated a few additional items available in our room such as beach umbrellas, charcoal, boogie boards and more. Our only complaint was that the beds were extremely firm and the pillows were lousy. We did not sleep well but thankfully, it was a relaxing vacation so we could overcome that. The location is nice because it is in a less "tourist" area but there are not many restaurant options nearby. Overall, I'd recommend this unit to others.

Great location and nice unit. Enjoyed the view from all windows. Nice to se the beach from unit. Beds were comfortable. Liked the tile floors in lieu of carpet. Kitchen a little dated but functional. Would like to see washer / dryer in unit but not a must. We will definitely stay here again.

We have rented in Sand Cay every year for years. First time in this particular unit and no disappointments! Beds were comfortable and great space. We were very happy

The views were stunning and the unit was very cozy and comfortable. It truly felt like paradise.

Sand Cay is in a great location on Longboat Key and this unit has awesome views of the beach. There are even beach views from the kitchen and the master bedroom. We used the heated pool and cooked on the outdoor grill one night. We walked to the hotel 2 properties away for a very nice poolside lunch one day.

Great views of the gulf and sunsets. Beautiful landscaping and great location.

The accommodations were excellent.

The gulf front unit was clean and nicely decorated. The grounds at Sand Cay were absolutely beautifully maintained and the management staff were friendly and professional.
