Unit #118

We love Sand Cay and the convenience of having a beachfront apartment however this unit needs some serious cleaning and updating. As previous stated, when we did a review in 2025. Seems like nothing was done. Too many things in the storage unit that need to be trashed and the kitchen is full of mix match items that are not usable. Had to go buy cups, plates and other items for our stay. When you pay over $4,000 a week you expect to have decent accommodations. The mattresses in the bedrooms were absolutely terrible. Sand Cay, owner of unit, you need to do better.

I rated just satisfied due to the twin bed mattresses and box springs were very uncomfortable and obviously very low on quality. Also, only one wine glass and coffee cups were too small, the size of teacups. Need some good size mugs. Some sections of the sun blinds keep falling apart. Dryer screen vent was broken allowing lint to discharge on the sidewalk and landscaping. Not a good look. I would not stay in 118 again due to the mattresses.

The location was excellent! Waking up and enjoying our breakfast and coffee overlooking the beach was a far cry from the cold freezing northern winter days. We did have some unit maintenance issues, but the staff jumped right on it and within a few hours our unit was fixed and cleaned and available for us to enjoy. We did have a couple of other issues which popped up that took several days to address but that was due to breakdown of communications between the staff and the unit owner. Overall we loved the complex and will keep it in mind for future vacations.

Sand Cay is beautiful and the staff in the office are always so helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

This was a girls wknd for 4 adult women. The property is beachfront, steps to the water. Well stocked with towels, kitchen appliances and supplies. There was even a pop-up tent we could use. The master had a wonderfully comfortable bed. The guest room has two twin beds that had no mattress cover and felt like you are laying on box springs. The most uncomfortable bed I have ever been on. There were two of us sharing the room, so we opted to try the pull-out couch a different night. Same torture. It would really be a deal breaker to go back and stay there again if there is not a change. That was our only complaint. Absolutely loved the location!

It’s always a wonderful time at Sand Cay during Easter weekend. We love coming back year after year. The kitchen amenities along with bedding need to upgraded and standardized. The sheets are paper thin and I’m unsure if the comforters are regularly washed.

The location of this unit is tops, right by the beach, and front row seats to sunsets. But, the place itself is tired and needs updating. Chipped paint, mix matched plates, cups, silverware... Bottom line for the price it should be in better shape.

The location of this unit was spectacular. The unit itself was tired and worn. The mattresses were awful. The dishwasher was broken and it couldn't be fixed during our stay. The windows were filthy and it took away from the beautiful view. However, the general cleanliness of the units was very, very good. The bathrooms were very clean as well as the kitchen. But they really need to invest in some new mattresses!

Excellent accommodations for my son and his young family of four including a 2 1/2 Y.O. son and 7 month old daughter. Great location and fantastic view.

Everything was as pictured! It is a lovely condo. Everyone we met was helpful and friendly. Beautiful views and beach.

A family vacation to Sarasota....with kids and grandkids and ten of us stayed at Sand Cay. Great location and amenities, we love it!

One of the nicest condos we've stayed in at Longboat Key, our condo was in incomparable location. Would go back tomorrow if we could! Very comfortable, could not be happier.

We had a wonderful time, the unit was excellent. Loved the views and watching the sunset every night.

The resort is perfectly situated on the beach of Longboat Key with the most beautiful sunsets! Sand Cay is a well appointed resort, great amenities clean and well manicured.

Great place to stay, as always. Will definitely be back again next year.

We enjoyed 2 awesome weeks at Sand Cay to celebrate our anniversary and we could not have asked for a better choice. Condo was only a few steps away from beach and the sunsets were unbelievable. Condo was very nice with everything we needed and the staff was so accommodating. We will be back!

Our family has been staying at Sand Cay for the past 20 years on Memorial weekend. We have tried to explore other options but nothing has compared to the value Sand Cay offers. Location, property condition, peaceful environment and office staff friendliness among many others. We leave every year looking forward to the next Stay!!!!!

Our third visit and we always love everything about it from the unit itself, the location on the beach and the nearby shopping, restaurants, groceries and more.

Our stay at Sand Cay, unit 118 was wonderful. The unit was very clean and updated. The view was fabulous and beach access was directly in front of the unit. So wonderful. Everyone has an opinion so I want to add this, while it would not deter me from booking this unit again, I feel more attention should be put into these items; maintenance clean up for a service call and pans need to be updated. I feel the non-stick pans need to be updated and there was a backwash of sand in the laundry room drain from a severe thunderstorm. While maintenance came to fix it, they did not clean up the sand that backfilled into the laundry room. Other than that, the unit was beautiful and would definitely rent it again.

It was amazing! Place was just as described. Very easy check in and check out. Helpful staff. Would define stay again.
