Sand Cay has been providing a beautiful beach home for our owners and their guests on Long Boat Key since 1974. Sand Cay does not have accessible common areas and has no accessible parking, pathways, hallways and corridors, entry to the Community Association Management office, sport courts, pool, BBQ areas, or beach access. Sand Cay is not open to the public. Only unit owners and their guests are permitted to enjoy the amenities at Sand Cay.
All units at Sand Cay are individually owned residences, none of which have been structurally modified after 2010. These individually owned residences do not have accessible doorways or entryways, accessible interiors including hallways and bathrooms, or accessible patio and balcony areas. The individually owned units are not accessible for individuals with mobility or physical challenges.

Yes, Sand Cay Beach Resort (Longboat Key FL) has a three (3) night minimum stay. However, minimum stays can be greater depending on the units available and the seasons. Contact us for availability for any of the units.
Sand Cay accepts credit or debit card payments only, for all rental deposits, rental payments and all other services provided by the resort.
Unfortunately, no. Sand Cay Beach Resort does not allow any trailers, boats or recreational vehicles of any kind on the property. Please make other arrangements for your trailer, boat, or recreational vehicle while staying at Sand Cay Beach Resort. Sand Cay does offer ONE parking space per unit rental. Unfortunately, we do not have overflow parking.
Sand Cay Beach Resort does not allow pets on the property, including the beach. Please make other arrangements for your pets while you stay at Sand Cay Beach Resort.
Senate Bill 1084 – Emotional Support Animals. Applies to condominium, cooperatives and homeowners’ association. The law allows a housing provider, such as a community association, to request certain written documentation prepared by a health care practitioner in a format prescribed in rule by the Department of Health. The practitioner or provider of the supporting information must have personal knowledge of the person’s disability and must be acting within the scope of his or her practice. If a person falsifies information or written documentation or knowingly provides fraudulent information to obtain an emotional support animal, they can be charged with a misdemeanor of the second degree. You will be required before Sand Cay accepts any reservation to verify all pertinent documents. We require a $250 Pet deposit at the time of booking. Once the unit has been inspected at the time of departure, Sand Cay will refund $200 in a form of a credit to the credit card on file.
All persons using the swimming pool and beach do so at their own risk. There are no lifeguards at Sand Cay Beach Resort.
All rates are based on four (4) persons per unit. Additional persons may be added to units that allow five (5) or six (6) people. A fee of $70 per person per week will be added to your rental charges.
Pool rules are posted in the pool area and all users, owners and guests, must obey them. The rules are as follows:
Unit occupants are not allowed to hang laundry garments, towels, bathing suits or other objects from the balconies. Small drying racks may be placed on patios provided they do not block another unit’s view.
Sidewalks, driveways, entrances, unit entries, stairways, elevators, walkways and other common areas of access must not be obstructed in any way. These areas must be kept free of any materials. Unit entries, especially, must not be obstructed by floats, beach chairs, bicycles, shoes, toys, and other personal items.
Personal charcoal and propane grills and other outdoor cooking devices are strictly prohibited at Sand Cay Beach Resort. BBQ grills are available next to the beach area entrance of the property. They may be used on a first-come, first-served basis.
Owners and lessees shall park only in the parking space assigned to the unit which they own/occupy.
Beach toys are available in large boxes near Sand Cay’s beach entrance. Please help yourself and return the toys you borrow to the box each evening. Overall, any one of Sand Cay Beach resort’s condo units should appeal to children. Many have been known to stay on the first floor and run right out to the beach each morning.
